Guys, please feel free to contact myself if you know anyone that would appreciate some communication and even just someone to talk to regarding a simular problem.

Thanks for your time, please find below a very close friend of mine whom has recently passed from an effect of that work cancer, believe me he was a very very strong man. All the best guys, thank you again for your time.

Hi all, I do trust you are all fine, well I feel OK and are still surviving, like you all I am getting use of the wet wether and do hope you too are surviving. Well I have been spending a fare bit of time at the Sarina Hospital and this time I am the visitor and not the patient. I have been visiting a family friend with cancer growths in the neck to the lungs, this gentleman has been a great yet loverly friend to me and my family, however as of Saturday the 27th he passed away and this was hard to accept.

During my visits to Sarina I meet with my mother and brothers (photo attached) and this was great, and these pleasures helps me fight my medical concerns. Anyway, thank you for your time I do hope I can provide you with more, yet better news in the future.

Cheers,

Dean.

Hi guys, thanks you again for your time, I received a messahe from Dr Charles Tie last week as I had copied my last MRi and one of our company caps, he stipulated the following:

“Dr Teo has reviewed your recent MRI and is glad to find that there is no evidence of tumor progression, in fact the scan looks even better than the last one. That's great news. We look forward to seeing your next MRI”

This made me feel GREAT. I do hope you and your family have top school holiday cummin up, please be careful.

Hi guys, well it's me, I feel GREAT and will continue to be positive. Lea took me to Brisbane on the 29th of October 2010 and presented tickets to me for her and I to see both Robin Gibb (Bee Gees) and Bonnie Tyler, this was TOPS, however the next day I turned 42. Anyway, I had an MRi in early October 2010 and by the end of October 2010 my Oncologist informed me that there has been no sign of growth or reduction in the brain tumer, this was pleasing for me. During June 2010 I started getting around a bit more and went to my cousin's wedding, I met so many people I had not seen for years, this was so good and I would recommend this to anyone, attached is an image of myself and my mum that night. I wish to thank everyone that has been reading this site and those that have been positive for me, other then that I will try and keep this site up and running and again,"thanks guys"

We are back from Sydney. It was cold and raining. We saw Dr Teo and he said that at the moment because Dean is so well that he would not offer surgery as it will be a last resort because it will very likely affect his speech. He wants to take over Deans case and have regular MRIs to keep an eye on whats happening with the tumour. Dean is very happy to have him keeping an eye on things. It was a good trip.

Friday, April 23, 2010

Well, we have heard from Dr Teos office. They said that there are changes and they want us there for a consult. We will fly down on the 18th May for a consult with Dr Teo and then go from there.

Thursday, April 15, 2010

Dean had a MRI this week and saw the oncologist yesterday for the results. The tumour hasn't grown, there is no change either way. The Dr doesn't want to continue chemo at the moment. She gve Dean a form to get another MRI in a few months to see if anything is happening.
Dean has posted a copy to Dr Teo in Sydney and we are just waiting to hear from him.

Well, we got through Cyclone Ului and have spent the week cleaning up with more still to do. Dean had a blood test this morning and his platelet count has jumped from in the 70's to 125. He had another treatment today.
Dean had a phone call from Dr Charlie Teo, the Neurosurgeon on Last Chance Surgery. After reviewing the MrI's, he is confident that he could operate to remove the tumour. Dean has to have another MrI next month and send a copy down to Dr Teo, then an apt will be made for a consult.

We spent a few hours at a good friends house last night playing Yahtzee and then Uno Spin. We had a great time and Dean commented to me on the way home that he felt clear headed and not dizzy at all and really enjoyed himself.

Friday, March 12, 2010

Well, Deans platelets have hardly risen at all!! So once again, no treatment this week. He has to try again in a week and a half. He is feeling ok, so thats the main thing.

Friday, March 5, 2010

No good news here!! :< Deans platelet count has hardly risen at all. So no treatment this week. He has been told to isolate himself from people so he doesn't get sick. He has to have another blood test next Friday. He also has an Oncologist appointment next Thursday.
Heres hoping that Deans blood test results will be good and that he can have treatment today. He just wants to get it over and done with!!

Saturday, February 27, 2010

Deans platelets count has dropped even further so he was unable to have treatment yesterday. He has to avoid crowds as his immune system is compromised at the moment and he has to have another blood test next Friday. Hopefully they will be back above the minimun by then. When they are low he is even tireder than usual and feels pretty blaagh!

Wednesday, February 24, 2010

Dean was scheduled to have his last chemo treatment for a while. However his blood count came back too low. So he will have another blood test Friday morning and if that comes back over 100 then he will have treatment on Friday.
He has just come in from mowing the lawn, and before that he took the dogs for a walk. He has overdone it and is flaked out under the air con.

Sunday, February 21, 2010

Wow this rain is unreal!! It has been bucketing down.
Dean has been feeling a bit dizzy this weekend, so has been taking it easy. He has IV treatment on Wednesday so he will be feeling really ordinary after that.

Thursday, February 4, 2010

Deans blood tests this week came back very good. He had more treatment yesterday, and also takes tablets every night for the next 3 weeks. He has been pretty sick today. The oncologist said that after another month of treatment he will have a break for a couple of months, then if he is happy for chemo to continue then it all will start again.

Saturday, January 23, 2010

Dean has a few more days til treatment starts again after a 4 week break. He goes back for a blood test on Wednesday. He has been feeling well, just a bit tired but then he has been doing a lot of work lately. I hope everyone has a great Australia Day. :>

We had a great time in Sydney. We walked everywhere. A couple of days Deans legs started to buckle under him, but after an hours sleep he was off and racing again. He even managed to climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
He now has a couple of weeks break from treatment.
